Preparation
Thorough preparation is essential before commencing the molding process. This includes cleaning the mold to ensure the interior is free of impurities, inspecting the mold for structural integrity (checking for cracks or damage), and preheating the mold to enhance plastic fluidity. These preparatory steps ensure a smooth molding process and help minimize the defect rate.
Temperature and Time Control
Temperature and time are critical factors influencing molding quality. Excessively low temperatures result in poor plastic fluidity, making it difficult to fill the mold completely, while excessively high temperatures can cause plastic decomposition or the formation of air bubbles. Therefore, temperature settings must be carefully determined based on the specific type of plastic and the mold's structure. Precise control of the molding time is also required to ensure the plastic fully fills the mold and sets properly during cooling.
Pressure Adjustment
Adjusting the pressure during the molding process is also crucial. Insufficient pressure may prevent the plastic from fully filling the mold, leading to incomplete filling (short shots), whereas excessive pressure can damage the mold or cause product deformation. Consequently, pressure should be adjusted incrementally based on actual conditions to achieve optimal results.
