Custom Centrifuge Tube Injection Mold

This custom Centrifuge Tube Mold is developed for injection molding flip-cap microcentrifuge tubes, screw-cap centrifuge tubes and related laboratory consumables. The mold can be engineered from approved 2D drawings, 3D models or physical samples, with product geometry, cap structure and production requirements reviewed before design.

The tool is suitable for PP, PS and other project-approved thermoplastics. Cavity quantity is customized according to tube size, target output, molding machine capacity and automation requirements. A hot runner system supports balanced filling and efficient material use, while the gate layout, venting, ejection and demolding solution are selected for the confirmed tube and cap structure.

S136 and other suitable mold steels may be selected according to material, surface finish, production volume and service conditions. Heat treatment and hardness are determined for each project rather than stated as fixed values. Precision machining and polishing help support clear surfaces, stable dimensions and consistent cavity performance.

Cooling circuits are customized around the cavity and core layout to promote uniform temperature control and stable molding cycles. Mold dimensions and weight are matched to the product and injection molding machine. Suitable machine specifications can be recommended after evaluating projected area, shot size, platen dimensions, tie-bar spacing and mold movement requirements.

Mold service life depends on steel selection, heat treatment, molding conditions, operation and preventive maintenance. The typical manufacturing lead time is 40–60 days after technical and design confirmation, subject to cavity quantity, mold complexity, trial requirements and the final order.

Applications include laboratory testing, medical testing workflows, life-science research, sample storage and centrifugal separation. The mold itself controls the geometry and manufacturability of the plastic part; sterility, biological cleanliness, chemical resistance and final product performance must be verified using the selected material, production process and applicable testing requirements.

Final part performance depends on the confirmed material, product design, molding process and applicable testing requirements.

Centrifuge Tube Mold FAQ

Q: What products can the mold manufacture?

A: It can be customized for flip-cap microcentrifuge tubes, screw-cap centrifuge tubes and related laboratory consumables. Final structure and capacity follow approved drawings or samples.

Q: Which materials are supported?

A: PP, PS and other project-approved thermoplastics can be evaluated. The exact grade must be confirmed against transparency, strength and end-use requirements.

Q: How many cavities can be supplied?

A: Cavity quantity is customized according to product size, output target and molding machine capacity.

Q: Does the mold use a hot runner?

A: Yes, the confirmed configuration uses a hot runner system. Brand, nozzle layout and control zones are finalized during technical review.

Q: Which mold steel is available?

A: S136 and other suitable steels can be selected. Heat treatment and hardness are determined by project requirements.

Q: How is the cooling system designed?

A: Cooling circuits are customized around the core and cavity layout to support uniform temperature and stable cycles.

Q: Can you recommend an injection molding machine?

A: Yes. Machine selection can be recommended after mold size, shot volume, platen and tie-bar requirements are confirmed.

Q: What information is needed for quotation?

A: Please provide drawings or samples, material, cavity target, machine information and expected output.

Q: What is the typical lead time?

A: Typical lead time is 40–60 days after design confirmation, subject to complexity and trial requirements.

Q: Can the mold be tested before shipment?

A: Trial molding and sample evaluation can be arranged according to the agreed project scope.

Q: Can tube and cap molds be developed together?

A: Yes. Separate tube and cap tools or an integrated project plan can be evaluated according to product structure.

Q: How is flash controlled?

A: Parting surfaces, venting, clamping conditions and machining accuracy are reviewed together to control flash.

Q: How is dimensional consistency maintained?

A: Steel stability, machining accuracy, balanced filling, cooling and validated process settings all contribute to consistency.

Q: What affects mold service life?

A: Steel, heat treatment, molding conditions, operation and preventive maintenance determine actual service life.

Q: Can automation be integrated?
