Custom Formwork Mold
This custom Formwork Mold is intended for compression molding reusable SMC construction formwork and related modular components, including wall panels, column forms, beam-form parts, corner pieces and connection features. It may also be described as a Plastic Construction Formwork Mold, Building Formwork Compression Mold or Modular Formwork Mould. Development can start from a customer sample, dimensioned 2D drawing or verified 3D model.
Mold structure, cavity quantity, panel dimensions, hole positions, reinforcement ribs, joining edges and demolding method are evaluated against the approved part and production plan. Design review focuses on material flow, venting, transitions between walls and ribs, dimensional stability, assembly consistency, release clearance and downstream construction use.
This mold is intended for SMC compression molding. Available steel options include heat-treated 45# steel, heat-treated P20 and pre-hardened 718H. The selection is determined by surface requirements, output, service-life target, machining and maintenance needs; these are alternative project options rather than three grades used in one mold. No fixed hardness value is stated in this document.
The heating arrangement is designed around the SMC molding window, panel thickness, mold structure and factory conditions. Electric heating, oil heating, steam heating and other project-evaluated methods are supported. Heating zones, sensors, connectors and control interfaces are confirmed during technical review.
Under approved steel selection and process parameters, and with normal operation and use, the Formwork Mold is expected to achieve at least 500,000 molding cycles. Actual service life depends on material abrasiveness, temperature and pressure, cleaning, handling and replacement of wear components.
Mold size, weight and press requirements are evaluated from projected area, molding pressure, platen, stroke, daylight and handling conditions. Our engineers recommend suitable press parameters from confirmed data; fixed tonnage is not estimated from photographs. The estimated lead time is 40–50 days after the product design drawing is approved. Large or complex projects require separate evaluation.
Final acceptance is based on approved drawings, the technical agreement, mold trials and sample criteria. Panel appearance, dimensions, flatness and molding stability also depend on material consistency, charge placement, temperature-pressure profile, press condition and factory quality control.

Application Scenarios
Formwork molds are used to compression mold reusable SMC wall panels, column forms, beam-form parts, corner pieces and modular shuttering components. Typical applications include residential and commercial construction, industrial buildings, municipal works and precast operations. The product can be customized around wall dimensions, assembly method, hole layout, ribs, connectors and reuse requirements.
Projects may support new-product development, pilot production and volume manufacturing. Evaluation of parting, venting, temperature control, material flow and demolding helps improve dimensional consistency, flatness, assembly fit and production stability. Application display. Final design is subject to customization.

Factory Introduction

Formwork Mold FAQ
Q: Can you customize a formwork mold from a sample, 2D drawing or 3D model?
A: Yes. Dimensioned 2D drawings or editable 3D models are preferred. If only a sample is available, measurable features, key dimensions, holes, joining edges and appearance requirements are confirmed first.
Q: What products can a formwork mold produce?
A: It can be evaluated for wall panels, column forms, beam-form parts, corner pieces, modular panels and related connection features. Each mold is based on the approved product and intended construction use.
Q: Which molding material is suitable?
A: This Formwork Mold is intended for SMC compression molding. The specific SMC datasheet and process window should be supplied before trial to confirm charge placement, temperature, pressure and molding cycle.
Q: How is the cavity quantity selected?
A: Cavity quantity is selected from panel size, output target, cycle, platen area and temperature-pressure uniformity. Large panels often require evaluation of a single-cavity or zoned solution, subject to technical review.
Q: Can mold size and weight be customized?
A: Yes. Overall size and weight depend on panel geometry, cavity count, structural strength, temperature control, press interface and handling method. Final data follow the approved mold drawings.
Q: How should short shots or local unfilled areas be investigated?
A: Check charge weight and placement, material flow, mold-temperature uniformity, pressure transfer, venting and local thin sections. Use recorded data and controlled one-variable changes.
Q: What should be checked for warpage or unstable flatness?
A: Review temperature difference between mold halves, cure consistency, charge distribution, demolding time, rib-wall transitions and post-demolding support. Confirm process stability before modifying the mold.
Q: What commonly causes excessive flash?
A: Possible causes include parting-surface wear, press parallelism, closing force, charge weight, material placement or damaged shut-off areas. Correct the root cause rather than only reducing charge.
Q: How can difficult demolding be corrected?
A: Check draft, surface condition, undercuts, cure level, ejection balance and vacuum locking. Structural causes should be addressed by design or repair rather than long-term reliance on extra release agent.
Q: What problems can uneven mold temperature cause?
A: It can cause inconsistent flow, cure, warpage, dimensional variation and demolding problems. Check heating zones, sensor positions, circuit flow, insulation and mold contact conditions.
