Custom Crate Injection Mold
This custom crate mold can produce ventilated crates, solid-wall boxes, collapsible crates, EU containers and other made-to-order plastic boxes. Product dimensions, weight, wall thickness, ribs, ventilation openings, handles, label areas, folding features and stacking interfaces are developed from the approved sample, 2D drawing or 3D model. HDPE, PP and other injection-grade materials can be evaluated; the exact resin grade and shrinkage must be confirmed before tooling design.
Cavity count, mold dimensions, mold weight and ejection method are customized around the product and output requirement. A hot-runner or cold-runner system can be used. Engineers select the solution according to part weight, resin, molding stability, material utilization, maintenance conditions and customer equipment.
Available mold-steel options include pre-hardened 718H, pre-treated P20, vacuum-hardened H13 and pre-hardened S136. Final grades, component allocation, hardness and heat-treatment condition are selected according to product geometry, volume, surface requirement, corrosion risk and maintenance conditions, and are governed by material certificates and the approved technical documents.
Water cooling is used. Cooling circuits are arranged around the deep cavity, sidewalls, base, dense rib zones and rim, then checked against the customer water temperature, flow, connections and water quality. Coordinated gating, venting, cooling and ejection help control short shots, trapped air, sink marks, warpage, sticking and ejector deformation.
The target mold life is more than 500,000 cycles under normal operation and proper maintenance. Actual life is affected by steel, heat treatment, part material, mold structure, molding parameters, operation and maintenance. Suitable injection-machine tonnage and equipment parameters are recommended after professional engineering evaluation.
Mold dimensions and weight are customized. The estimated lead time is 40–50 days; the start date and final schedule are subject to design approval, steel and component availability, tooling complexity, trial requirements, sample approval and the formal order.
Trials and acceptance can cover filling, packing, cooling, demolding, dimensions, appearance, folding action or stacking fit. Final acceptance criteria, sample quantity, trial resin, packing and delivery documents are subject to mutually approved project files.
