Single-cavity molds: A mold containing only one cavity, suitable for large, complex products (such as automotive bumpers or washing machine inner drums) or small-batch trial production. Their advantages include simple structure and ease of setup, while the disadvantage is low production efficiency.
Multi-cavity molds: A mold containing multiple identical cavities (commonly 8, 16, or 32 cavities), suitable for small, standardized products (such as beverage caps or electronic connectors) and capable of exponentially increasing production capacity. For example, a 32-cavity bottle cap mold paired with a high-speed injection molding machine can produce 38,400 caps per hour, resulting in a daily output exceeding 900,000 units.
