Types Of Compression Molds

Compression molds are primarily categorized into three types:

Flash Molds: These molds do not require precise material dosing; excess material is squeezed out of the mold during the compression process. Flash molds are suitable for molding low-cost materials and producing complex shapes, and they offer lower production costs.

Positive Molds: These molds utilize a precise amount of material, eliminating waste. They are ideal for molding expensive materials and are particularly well-suited for deep-cavity designs.

Semi-Positive Molds: These fall between flash molds and positive molds in terms of precision.

Whether for molding thermosetting materials or manufacturing complex components, compression molds serve as an indispensable foundation in the manufacturing industry.
