After the plastic has cured, the product must be smoothly ejected from the mold cavity using an ejection system to prevent deformation or damage. Key components include:
Ejector pins: The most common ejection components; they must be evenly distributed at points that balance the load on the product to prevent localized stress concentrations that could cause breakage;
Ejector plates / Ejector sleeves: Suitable for large-surface-area or cylindrical products (such as plastic cups); these eject the part via surface contact, thereby minimizing visible marks;
Angled lifters / Core-pulling mechanisms: Designed for features with undercuts (such as snap-fits or deep holes); these utilize angled movement or core-pulling actions to ensure smooth ejection-for instance, the snap-fits on a mobile phone charger plug require an angled lifter mechanism for release.
